Does anyone else ever find themselves struggling to find enough time to watch all of the Halloween themed movies/television/specials that you plan on watching? Of course there is the prerequisite viewing of Halloween, Trick 'r Treat, and The Great Pumpkin, but what else do you try to squeeze in before the 31st? Well I hate to say it, but here are two more specials to try to squeeze in before November. The first is a special that is the demon spawn of "The Great Christmas Light Fight," from last years Christmas season. "The Great Halloween Fright Fight" will be an ABC special airing on Tuesday, October 28th (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT). The special will feature different households showcasing their efforts to create the best Halloween home haunt displays. There will be a prize of $50,000 given to the "best" Halloween display, although what constitutes the "best" has yet to be announced. I'm curious as to whether or not gore, interactiveness, scariness, or what will be used to judge the displays. Here are some promotional pictures for the special......
The second Halloween special that I wanted to talk about features one of the sexiest Halloween regulars of all time, that's right Elvira! Hulu recently announced that they'd snagged the witty horror hostess to bring her brand of sexually infused, comedic commentary to their site for a mini series entitled: "13 Nights of Elvira". The series will run from October 19th through Halloween and will feature campy classics such as: Evil Bong, Seed People, Shrunken Heads, Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, and premiering on Halloween night is the seminal classic Night of the Living Dead! I can't wait to see what Elvira comes up for some of these commentaries, especially Evil Bong. No word yet on what time each day the movies will pop up on Hulu but it might be to your advantage to use your free trial week somewhere between those days and check it out. You can never have too much Elvira during Halloween right? Click the promo pic below to be taken to Elvira's Movie Macabre on Hulu (they haven't posted an official 13 Nights of Elvira page yet)!
